ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Audible’s “Next Chapter” Returnship Program is a paid full-time internship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to professionals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least one year to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply. This program offers you a chance to revamp your skills, update your resume with new experiences, and make connections with other professionals.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
User Experience Design is at the heart of Audible’s goal to be customer obsessed. As a UX Designer, you'll collaborate with product, business, and technology teams to enhance our core consumer-facing services. We transform customer insights into engaging products that deliver business value and customer joy. We're looking for a talented, passionate UX Designer to help maintain Audible's position as a leader in product innovation. You will be mentored by seasoned designers, as well as other cross-functional stakeholders across Audible and Amazon as a whole. You will partner with product managers, developers, researchers, and the business to define, design and modernize our products and services. - You dive into understanding customer problems, collaborate with stakeholders, and leverage research to craft design solutions grounded in insights and business goals

- You actively expand, evangelize, and share your customer knowledge, ensuring the work you and your team produce meets customer needs

As a UX designer, you will...
- Collaborate closely with UX, product, engineering, analytics, customer service, marketing, and QA teams
- Champion user-centered design through formal research partnerships and informal user testing, creating prototypes as needed to validate solutions
- Create and refine designs through wireframes, prototypes, customer journeys, and storyboards, validating solutions through multiple iterations.
- Create designs primarily for native mobile apps, while also supporting other platforms like tablet, TV and car
- Exchange constructive feedback in design review sessions, incorporate feedback into iterations
- Partner with User Research to ensure that your design concepts meet our customer's expectations and will deliver the desired results
- Create clear documentation that enables stakeholders to understand designs and tech partners to implement them effectively
- Learn continually from available resources and experts, then share your knowledge with others

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree
- Have at least two creative materials for Amazon to review (they can be in any format, i.e. website, PDF, slide deck)
- 3 years of experience as a user experience designer, product designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
- Experience designing and delivering digital products; illustrated with a portfolio

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Able to clearly articulate the basis of design decisions to stakeholders and respond effectively to feedback
- Proficiency with prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Framer) and working with an established design system
- Proven ability to take defined customer and business goals and translate them into effective design solutions
- Experience planning and executing effective customer research, solo, or in partnership with a UX Researcher
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and solid design instincts who can translate user and business needs into design solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
