Position Summary
Atlanta United is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This individual will report to the Director of Finance and assist in all internal and external financial reporting for Atlanta United. Additionally, s / he will assist in the completion of the Company's annual audits, Major League Soccer reporting and on various special projects. S / he will provide strategic support to the finance team and management. This position is primarily based out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA and will also occasionally work out of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, GA.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule, including posting and / or review of various journal entries, event settlements, capital expenditures and accruals
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP
- Communicate financial results and projections to management and department heads including actual financial performance against approved budgets
- Assist in the creation of annual budget and five-year planning over multiple departments
- Lead in the preparation of year end and periodic MLS reporting
- Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors
- Ownership of the analysis and consolidation of headcount reports
- Submit sales tax in compliance with state tax requirements
- Complete ad hoc analysis and other projects as assigned
