What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Athletic Director position at Ambassador Christian School?
Ambassador Christian School opened in August 2024. The school has a bold vision to launch ambassadors for Christ into all spheres of influence. In our first school year, 2024-2025, we enrolled 159 high school students. Over the next few years, the school will grow to 1000 in high school and is seeking to build dynamic programs in academics, athletics, fine arts, industrial arts and service. The school is well positioned on a 29-acre campus with an 80,000 sq ft building in the growing suburbs of north Charlotte.
ROLE SUMMARY
Members of the Athletic Support team play a critical role in promoting program success and ensuring that all student-athletes have the support they need to thrive academically, athletically and personally. This role will report to the Athletic Director in all day-to-day activities and will provide support to the total athletic department. This position will collaborate with other members of the athletic team, including coaches, trainers, parents and players to help develop athletic support plans for the department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operational duties, transportation coordination, practice/game scheduling, and communication systems within the department. This position requires a combination of leadership, collaboration, and expertise in athletic support services to meet the diverse needs of a student body in which 95% are involved in athletics.
ATHLETIC SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily/weekly meetings with the Athletic Director..
- Operations with responsibilities to include field rentals, ticketing, concessions, admin on duty, athletic trainers, scoreboard staff, announcers, emergency personnel, emergency plans and end of game closeouts.
- Schedule and coordinate payment for home officials.
- Summer Camp Coordinator assisting head coaches in preparation and execution of summer camps.
- Transportation Coordinator responsible for keeping vehicles serviced regularly and 'road worthy'.
- Equipment duties with responsibility for keeping storage facilities orderly and organized.
- Film liaison being the point of contact for information concerning Hudl, Synergy, Vidswap and other film platforms.
- Media Day scheduling with athletic department photographers to schedule and execute picture days.
- Assisting Athletic Director in such things as professional development and training for coaches, middle school activities to foster local relations, promoting game day atmosphere, annual SWOT analysis for each sport as well as total athletic program, knowledge of NCISAA, NCAA, and NFHS rules and regulations, long range planning, supervision at athletic events, end of season banquets, and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years or more coaching experience at the high school or college level
- Demonstrated desire and ability to disciple youth athletes
- Demonstrated faith in Christ; clear appreciation and support for the school Mission Statement (Providing an opportunity for students to thrive in an environment where unique giftedness is celebrated, individual strengths are developed, virtue is valued, and faith is authentically explored.)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- CPR-First Aid-AED certification
- General administrative experience helpful
