Ambassador Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Production Supervisor for the Gaffney, SC area.
The Production Supervisor is crucial in overseeing and managing a production shift, focusing on safety, product quality, schedule adherence, and operational cost optimization. This role includes direct supervision of labor within designated areas and shifts. This is DIRECT HIRE opportunity with benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and 401k.
Essential Job Functions :
Compliance and Safety : Ensure adherence to 6S and all company policies, rules, and procedures. Maintain vigilance regarding potential safety hazards and ensure employee compliance with safety protocols.
Quality Control : Monitor company and customer quality concerns. Ensure compliance with auditing requirements and have the authority to halt non-conforming products, escalating issues as necessary.
Production Scheduling : Ensure production schedules from the Planning Department are met. Organize and plan labor, scheduling, and product flow for the production shift.
Cost Management : Manage labor and staffing levels to effectively control operating direct costs.
Policy Enforcement : Enforce company policies as outlined in the company handbook and related documents.
Collaboration with Engineering : Work with the process engineering team to ensure adherence to processing specifications and inspection standards. Address any technical issues in carpet production.
Quality Assurance : Ensure compliance with quality procedures and policies for handling non-conforming materials.
Equipment Oversight : Responsible for the operation and performance of all equipment during the shift, seeking engineering assistance when necessary.
Inventory Management : Control supply inventories for production on an as-needed basis.
Reporting : Follow the production schedule, log statistical data, and create / submit reports as requested by management.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Engineering and / or 5 years of relevant experience.
Skills : Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills. Proficiency in general computer and software applications is required.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and capacity to sit / stand for extended periods, including walking, squatting, driving, pushing, and climbing.
Machinery and Safety : Experience working with heavy machinery and high voltage is a plus. Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license. Current American Red Cross certification in ‘Adult First Aid / CPR / AED’ is preferred or ability to obtain it.
