Description
Under the guidance of the Amberwell Manager of Education Services and Clinic Leaders, the Clinical Educator collaborates with nursing management and staff across the clinics to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The Clinic Educator acts as a key resource in the orientation, EMR clinical documentation, nursing competencies, and continuous process improvement across the clinical setting. Other services may include but are not limited to process performance, and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established committees and workgroups. Some of the duties of the clinic educator will include but are not limited to:
- Design and continuously improve and adapt curriculum depending on educational needs
- Provide training to licensed and unlicensed clinic staff
- Incorporate evidence-based research into educational plans, patient treatment plans, and clinical practices
- Develop and lead education on clinical EMR documentation requirements
- Teach clinical quality data documentation requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of trends in the area of expertise
- Stay current on updates and improvements in the EMR capabilities and provide education to staff to continue to improve clinic EMR function
- Educate clinic staff on all point of care testing, and perform initial and annual training, and competencies.
- Provide monthly education at staff meetings
- Stay current with process changes within the clinic and incorporate changes into the current training curriculum
- Work toward standardization of process across the clinics
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- Minimum Required Experience: Experience in the clinic setting with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred Experience: 2-5 years’ experience working as a registered nurse or as a practical nurse in the educator role.
- Education:
- Minimum Required Education: Completion of an accredited Associates in nursing or technical/vocational nursing program.
- Preferred Education: Completion of an accredited bachelor’s nursing program
- Licenses:
- Minimum Required Licenses: Active unencumbered LPN or RN Kansas license
- Preferred Licenses: N/A
- Certifications:
- Minimum Required: BLS
- Preferred Certifications: N/A
