We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering and Production Intern who can help us design, build, test, install, and support new and improved components into our early stage fleet of robotic workcells. The internship has a large emphasis on working directly on the manufacturing floor at Ambi HQ and being a key part of building innovative robotic systems! In this role you will work closely with members of the Hardware team.

In this role you will:
- Build robot assemblies using assembly drawings and careful attention to detail
- Assist in managing bill of materials and inventory of robot components
- Inspect parts and assemblies for quality and compliance with engineering drawings
- Organize and maintain machine tools and consumable inventory
- Identify and implement improvements to existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Develop clear and concise documentation to facilitate communication across Ambi, vendors, and customers
- Follow safety guidelines, procedures, and maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Eagerness to learn, solve challenging problems, and lead with curiosity
- Excitement about amplifying human potential with state-of-the-art robotics
- Experience with safe use of machine tools including drills, saws, presses, and torque wrenches
- Enthusiasm for designing and building mechanical systems
- Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50lbs
- 2 years of undergraduate experience in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing) or related field
- (BONUS) Past internship experience in mechanical engineering or related field
- (BONUS) Proficiency with CAD
- (BONUS) Familiarity with robotics
