The Opportunity: Reporting to the Vice President Finance & Corporate Controller at Friendly Group, the Accounting Manager will be a key part of the accounting team supporting the Corporate Controller as well as the General Manager at Ambient Edge. This role will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions for Ambient Edge’s Nevada and Arizona locations. What You’ll Do:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including managing a staff of three overseeing 18 million dollars in revenue.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversee the month end process and financial reporting and analysis in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts with the CFO and General Manager.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Provide leadership with ad hoc reports that help drive business decisions.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting required.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing and/or warehousing environment preferred
- Supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
- Experience supporting and working collaboratively with Operations strongly preferred
- Management of the month-end close process
- Prior experience providing financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP Software products and Service Titan is strongly preferred.
- Ability to present information clearly orally and in written format and respond to questions from senior management, auditors, and other internal or external customers.
- Prior experience with annual financial audits.
- Ability to prioritize projects and manage them simultaneously.
- Solve issues as they arise and deal with multiple variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of other Microsoft suite products.
