Role: Inside Sales Engineer 

You will play a crucial role as part of the inside sales team helping to promote the APA brand. This is an exciting time at APA with explosive growth and representation of the best products in the industry. We are looking for results-oriented team members that take pride in the products and services they can offer to their customers and colleagues. You will report to the Manager of Estimating & Inside Sales and assist with the execution of projects from estimates through closeout. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of major projects while gaining exposure to our impressive portfolio of work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical knowledge of our products through commitment to professional development through factory training, company lunch & learns and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in estimating, pre-qualification and pre-bid meetings with full engagement.
  • Perform takeoffs, scope, and pricing.
  • Learn and utilize various manufacturer tools and software to develop accurate manufacturer quotes.
  • Work directly with manufacturers as required to obtain factory quotes and complete all bid requirements.
  • Work in Excel spreadsheets with detailed breakouts of costs/sell prices.
  • Prepare comprehensive, accurate and competitive estimates/proposals.
  • Participate in sales meetings.
  • Assist with engineering selections, technical support, submittal process and procurement of products.
  • Work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across the entire organization.
  • Attend factory training (requires some traveling). By
  • Support database management, bid forecast and pipeline as required.

Requirements: 

  • The ability to problem solve. Our projects are complex and have many moving parts. The ideal candidate will know how to roll up their sleeves and search for answers.  
  • You’re a team player. We achieve success together. The team is here to support you and is looking for people who want to contribute and grow together.  
  • Clear communication. You will be interacting with teammates, manufacturers and clients. Strong written and verbal communication is key.  
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam.  
  • Engineering Degree a plus.
  • 1 – 2 years in HVAC industry a plus.

 

Estimated Compensation: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000 depending upon experience.
