Compensation: $22 per hour. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive with the target at 3% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.
Clinical Accessioning Representative
The Clinical Accessioning Representative is responsible for entering all required information as provided by our clients for each standard clinical sample received, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order. This job provides a starting point for the workflows of several other departments.
Essential Function
- Entering all required information supplied by clients accurately into a variety of databases, and ensuring the order is correctly established for workflows downstream. This includes, but is not limited to, applying the appropriate holds to testing as needed, attaching paperwork received to the correct patient record, and documenting any issues with the specimen and/or paperwork.
- Ensuring specimen integrity; that the labels on the specimens coincide with the paperwork provided, and internally generated accession numbers are affixed to the correct specimen.
- Contacting our clients and/or patients to confirm information that was not provided, but needs to be verified, and maintaining both personal and department shared follow up work lists.
- Communicating with, and correctly notifying, other departments about specific cases when needed.
- Complying with all laboratory safety requirements, including wearing the appropriate PPE.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable and efficient while working independently, as well as part of a team
- Fast and accurate typing ability, with a great attention to detail
- Critical thinking skills, and the ability to adapt to a variety of situations from case to case
- Able to sit and use a computer for the majority of the work day, and regularly lift up to 10lbs
- Data entry or administrative experience, or experience in the medical or healthcare industry is a plus

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
