We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Category Management focused on the Candy and Snacks categories to join our team and drive our vendor relationships, inventory management, and revenue generation strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Vendor Relationship Management - Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all Candy/Snack vendors for the benefit of AMCON and our Retail Partners.
- Revenue Generation - Leverage the AMCON Family of Brands market coverage and buying power for the benefit of AMCON and our Retail Partners. This includes promoting and securing funds to support all current and future AMCON marketing programs including but not limited to the AMCON Trip Program, Pro-Show, Convenience Excel Shows, VIP Program, Planogram Program, and the AMCON Advantage Program.
- Inventory Management - Ensure that AMCON has the right product mix to serve our retail partners in the specific geographies serviced. Assist the Division Manager and Operation Manager teams to control existing inventory levels to ensure high levels of service, managing inventory dollars and spend, and evaluates redundant and slow-moving items. Coordinate with Sales Management to identify problematic items and promote them out of inventory.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in category management, vendor management, and inventory management within the convenience distribution industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving revenue growth and improving operational efficiency.
