We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Warehouse and Transportation Manager to join our dynamic team, where you'll oversee all aspects of warehouse operations and transportation logistics to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of products to our retail partners. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of customer service, inventory management, and delivery performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Warehouse Management

  • Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, customer service, returns, inventory, and distributing products to customer (convenience store) locations.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse procedures and policies to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and optimize inventory control.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, safety programs and quality standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate warehouse performance metrics, such as productivity, accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with customers and other internal departments (purchasing, accounting, etc.) to resolve any order discrepancies or inventory issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and returns.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with Sales and customer service teams to resolve any customer inquiries or complaints related to warehouse operations.

Transportation

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of products to our retail partners.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, driver assignments, and load optimization.
  • Manage and maintain a fleet of vehicles, ensuring good working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure smooth coordination of delivery activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delivery delays.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including DOT requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to transportation logistics.

Leadership

  • Selects, provides leadership, supervises and conducts performance evaluations of direct reports. Makes recommendations based on corporate guidelines in matters regarding changes in compensation, promotion, disciplinary action, or termination of direct reports.
  • Stay updated and make recommendations based on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to transportation logistics and warehouse operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience in transportation or warehouse management, preferably in the distribution or retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DOT regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems and other related software applications.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities, with the aptitude to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to drive operational improvements.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (CDL Class A license preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
