HEAD GOLF PROFESSINAL - AMELIA NATIONAL GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB

This position is offered to the right candidate with a base salary, plus lessons incentive, in additional to annual Golf Shop revenues override.

Summary: The Head Golf Professional exercises discretion and uses independent judgement to manage and coordinate all golf operations, including direct supervision of assistant golf professionals, cart staff, pro shop staff, and retail merchandise associates (if applicable). Takes responsibility for all shop merchandising, promoting and cost of sales maintained within Club budget requirements. Provides professional direction for the standards of service to be at a peak level of performance at all times. Hires, trains, coaches and develops staff to provide an exceptional experience for all members and guests, and in accordance with Company and Human Resources policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for all financial & rounds reports, budgets, and payroll for golf shop operations. This job description is not limited to the above duties and responsibilities. Director holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees maintenance and set-up of all golf courses in conjunction with Golf course Maintenance, Course Superintendents, and/or Assistant General Manager.
  • Coordinate day-to-day matters affecting golf play and policy.
  • Practices core values in accordance with member / guest service programs. Meet, greet & welcome prospective members/guests.
  • Assures high standards in continuous efforts to meet and exceed member expectations.
  • Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course.
  • Interpret and enforce the Rules of Golf.
  • Coordinate and ensure all written correspondence, reporting, newsletters and communications for the golf operation.
  • Develops relationship with F&B Managers regarding their involvement with groups, tournaments, and/or special events.
  • Presents a positive image of the Club; promotes golf in the community; and represents the Club at Pro-Am tournaments within the PGA Chapter and Section.
  • Provides instruction to members consisting of men, women and junior golfers.
  • Maintains a professional and tidy shop with a variety of selections for members and guests. Coordinate with vendors to receive the best possible pricing to maintain desirable profit margins while still providing value to the members.
  • Yearly budgeting for the golf operation; Ability to forecast, plan, and execute a golf program within the budget.
  • Provides an innovative and compelling tournament program that services all members and is fiscally responsible.
  • Develop Club Clinics, etc.
  • Maintain historical records for important club events.
  • Maintain daily records for rounds of golf, revenue and merchandise sales.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of the game of golf and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Class A PGA Member in good standing.
  • 3 years of experience in a Head Golf Professional role is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Rules of Golf
  • Experience using JONAS point of sale and tee time reservations is a plus
  • Fluent in Golf Genius and GHIN.

Work Environment:

This position works both inside the Clubhouse and out on the golf course. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions; outdoor weather conditions which can include extreme heat or extreme cold.

Physical Demands:

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands. The employee is frequently required to stand or walk for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
