Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including cherry pickers and clamp trucks, to efficiently load and unload materials, ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse processes. This role requires a strong attention to detail and mechanical knowledge to handle equipment safely and effectively.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, including pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and clamp trucks, to load and unload products from delivery vehicles.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory movements accurately within the warehouse.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory in designated storage areas.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure timely order fulfillment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery within the distribution center.
- Support order picking processes by efficiently transporting goods to designated areas for shipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance.
- Ability to operate various types of forklifts, including cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while adhering to safety standards.
- A valid forklift operator certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
