Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our facility. This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
• Move products throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment while ensuring safety standards are met.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders.
• Assist in order picking and preparing items for shipment, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
• Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.

Skills

• Proven experience in heavy lifting and operating forklifts safely in a warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork.
• Ability to perform order picking accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar leadership role is a plus.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 2 years (Required)
• Forklift: 2 years (Required)
• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
• loading& unloading: 2 years (Required)
