What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Amerapex?
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for full-cycle, multi-state payroll for Amerapex Corporation and its affiliate companies. The incumbent will work side by side with the HR team and resolve pay related issues in a polite and professional manner. He/She will coordinate and manage the daily administrative functions of Amerapex’ front desk. The incumbent may work alongside a qualified Mentor/Trainer in the following role or similar work duties for a period of 2 weeks or as designated by the Management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Ability to respond and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies in a professional, accurate and timely manner while delivering quality customer service
• New Hire set up into ADP WFN system which includes benefit enrollments as needed
• Assist the accounting department and Human Resources department with necessary audit reports
• Verify funds for stop payments and properly credited to accounts
• Reconcile against ADP WFN benefit invoices such as medical, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, etc.
• Provide reports to all managers of hours paid for all employees on all payrolls to ensure an employee was not erroneously paid. This will let us know if termination paperwork or leave of absence paperwork was not provided to the HR/payroll departments.
• Manage child support garnishments, levies or any other mandated payroll garnishments accordingly
• Set up of cost codes in ADP WFN
• Knowledge of workers compensation codes and set up in WFN
• Set up of state accounts as needed
• Perform special projects as needed

1. At least 3 years processing high-volume multi-state payroll
2. Professional attitude and appearance a must
3. Proficient in MS Office preferred, ADP knowledge a plus
4. Working knowledge of office equipment
5. Thorough understanding of office management procedures
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills
7. Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
9. Must maintain a pleasant personality and positive attitude.

Salary : $46,400 - $58,700
