Position Overview:

Ameresco is offering an associate level position, based in our Boston, MA office. The position will join the Solar PV and Energy Storage team, which develops, installs, and operates large scale renewable generation and energy storage projects throughout the country. Position responsibilities are a mix of recurring monthly responsibilities and individual project-based work. The selected candidate will support the operation of multi-million-dollar solar and battery energy storage projects and work closely with the analysts, engineers, project development and operations and maintenance staff who create and manage these projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Track utility data, perform detailed analysis and reporting on solar and energy storage portfolio performance, and participate in reporting improvement efforts.

  • Assist in the setup of new projects within Ameresco’s management system.

  • Participate in SREC and other incentive trading and price tracking.

  • Work with Ameresco’s asset management software to ensure the integrity of project data.

  • Assist in the management of Ameresco’s third-party administered community solar and large-scale battery energy storage projects, including working directly with Ameresco’s network of providers.

  • Participate in the development of project and portfolio level budgets and forecasts. 

  • Follow industry updates on solar and energy storage policy and regulations throughout the country to optimize operational project performance.

  • Assist in analysis to support development decision-making regarding markets and opportunities to pursue and equipment to utilize.

  • Assist with the qualification of projects in various state and ISO-level markets and incentive programs.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the solar, wind or battery storage fields, ideally focused on project development, operations, or asset management.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, energy or engineering fields.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.

  • Excellent computer skills including strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Self-starter, able to work independently, take initiative and develop good working relationships with junior and senior team staff.

  • Strong verbal, written, technical communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other programming languages.
