Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a General Education Teacher. The General Education Teacher implements the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The Teacher maintains a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and establishes effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management. The Teacher works effectively with the building administrator and other teachers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designatedCreates and implements the instructional plans in accordance with the district curriculumMaintains a classroom climate that is conducive to learningMaintains reasonable rules which encourage self-discipline and responsibilityGuides the learning process toward the achievement of the school curriculum and goalsImplements a variety of instructional techniques and instructional mediaAcquaints self with and adheres to the policies and procedures as established by the Board ofEducation and Administration in written or verbal formCreates and implements response to Intervention programs as neededTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesMaintains records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulationsAssists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conductServices as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive attitude, positive and respectful communication, and professional appearanceHolds and communicates high expectations of student achievement and behaviorAttends staff meetings and performs actively on committees as required by the administrationMeets expected standards of professional behaviorPerforms other tasks assigned by the administration or required for the effective implementation of District goals, objectives, programs and policiesAdministers assessments on a timely basis as directed by administrationCommunicates effectively with parents when neededProvides individualized and small group instruction as prescribed in the daily instructional plans.Supports the Mission and Vision of the DistrictMaintains a professional and positive rapport with parents/co-workers/administration/School BoardSupervises classroom students, paraprofessionals and volunteersPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree or higher requiredWillingness and ability to accept direct responsibility for safety, wellbeing, or work output of other peopleAbility to read and implement instructional plans, correspond with parents and administration, and effectively present information and respond to questions from administration, parent, students, staff members, and the general public as requestedAbility to work with basic mathematical conceptsAbility to solve practical problemsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board of Education policiesMeet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staffAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of age
