The Marriage and Family Counselor provides professionalcounseling services designed in assisting participants in behavior change tomaintain a healthy lifestyle and quality of life through individual and grouptherapy.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Provides professional counseling services topatients / clients and their familiesMay counsel and teach behavior change, stress management,and other program classes, which assist the participants in achievingprescribed objectivesAdministers, interprets, and assesses the results of relatedprogram-administered assessment testsAssists with the development of mind / body programming intowellness programs, i.e. cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, weight managementProvides education to patients and families related toissues that impact patient / client careConducts lectures and participates in community outreachactivitiesIdentifies concerns and makes referrals to other specialistswhen neededProvides guidance and coaching to staff members working withclients as neededAdheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies andproceduresPerforms other duties as assigned / necessaryMinimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work orrelated field preferredMaster's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work,Family Therapy preferredLicensed as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and FamilyTherapist (LMFT) as required by state regulations and / or contractspecificationsOne (1) year of experience in counseling preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits : Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs
