Amergis is looking for a Student Services Coordinator to join our team.
About the Role:
This role involves supporting the social work department in developing individualized plans for students requiring social work support in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating Student Services: Establishes therapeutic settings and procedures aligned with the instructional program.
- Supporting Student Progress: Designs and develops individualized service plans based on IEPs and supports the curriculum using diagnostic information from assessments.
- Facilitating Communication: Utilizes available resources as a bridge to the instructional program.
- Ensuring Smooth Transitions: Effectively transitions students between therapy and classroom settings.
- Promoting a Positive School Climate: Promotes prevention and intervention of inappropriate behaviors while maintaining student dignity.
- Engaging with Families and Professionals: Engages students with positive feedback and effective reinforcement techniques.
- Collaborating with Educational Teams: Interacts effectively with students, family members, educational teams, and professionals outside the organization.
- Understanding Student Development and Disability: Knowledgeable about general development and the impact of disability on students and their families.
- Maintaining Student Safety and Welfare: Collaborates with assigned students, educational staff, and volunteers to ensure student welfare and safety.
Requirements:
- A Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement is required.
- An MSW or LCSW may be necessary per state or facility requirements.
- The candidate must comply with professional standards of practice and complete Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- CPR certification, TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray may be required by contract or facility.
- Federal, state, and local requirements must be met.
- New hire training and understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements are essential.
