Job Summary

America In Motion, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Coordinator. This person is responsible for managing the Bill of Materials (BOMs), assisting in inventory control, placing purchase orders and processing aftermarket spare parts requests.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Work closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Project and Production team, to ensure the timely and precise creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Interpret and extract data from fabrication drawings and parts lists to develop accurate BOMs.
  • Verify material availability and ensure the correct parts are included in BOMs.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Cage Manager to maintain up-to-date stock levels.
  • Communicate with Shop Personnel to verify that the BOMs reflect the current production processes and any engineering changes.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure all BOM-related data aligns with cost tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all BOMs, updating them promptly when engineering changes or part revisions occur.
  • Perform regular audits of BOMs to maintain system integrity and support continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all BOM-related activities.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in the BOMs, parts lists, or fabrication drawings, working cross-functionally to ensure solutions.

Order Processing

  • Request quotes from our suppliers based on BOM and aftermarket customers’ needs.
  • Processing purchasing orders based on the BOM reports, minimum inventory levels, aftermarket customer orders or requests for other departments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials. Track and report material backorders from vendors.
  • Assist in logistics to streamline deliveries from suppliers and optimize freight costs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Aftermarket Sales Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding spare parts lists and quotes.
  • Process Aftermarket Spare parts orders.
  • Obtain the parts from the inventory team
  • Organize logistics for the deliveries of the spare parts to the customers.
  • Administrative Support

  • Keep the system updated with correct customer, supplier and parts information.
  • Filing of paperwork in an organized way
  • Support the company with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BOM development in QuickBooks system.
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of purchasing, inventory management, and accounting principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering / technical drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Embrace new technologies and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot under tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and able to work extended hours if required.
  • Collaborative and effective in a multidisciplinary environment involving sales, product design, process engineering, quality control, and operations.
