Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-bid meetings or site visits to determine project parameters and verify existing conditions.
- Read and analyze bid plans, technical documents, and specification to determine the full scope of work and bid requirements.
- Collect and analyze data to estimate the time, money, materials, equipment, subcontracted, and labor required to complete the project.
- Prepare and complete cost estimates
- Obtain material and subcontract quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Manage vendor and subcontractor quote comparisons and present to team for review.
- Manage comparisons between self-perform estimates and subcontractor quotes and present to team for review.
- Build good relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Update and maintain vendor and subcontractor database.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates.
- Prepare final bid proposal and proposal or technical documents with estimating team.
- Develop preliminary project plan and schedule with other team members.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience
- 2-5 years in construction and manufacturing area
Preferred qualification:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, responsible and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and learning abilities.
