What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Manager position at American Academy?
American Academy (AA) has an opening for a full-time front Office Manager at our Castle Pines campus for 2025-26. The Office Manager reports to the Human Resources Director and is responsible for managing the front office, Receptionist, Instructional Assistants, In-House Substitute, and Health Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity
Uphold and model American Academy’s Character Program and Manners
Maintain Front Office Services including parent inquiries, administrative support, assisting staff and students as needed, and more.
Carpool oversight, ensuring safety and efficiency, adequate staffing, and addressing carpool issues that may arise.
Lunchroom and Recess Oversight, ensuring adequate staffing and safety of the lunchroom and playground, monitor the hot lunch program with DCSD Nutrition Services, oversee lunch and recess volunteers.
Health Office oversight, working with School Nurse and Health Assistant to be sure that medications are properly tracked, stored, and administered, ensure student health records are compliant, and manage health office staff.
Supervise and evaluate office staff including Instructional Assistants, In-House Substitute, Health Assistant, and Receptionist. Provide clear expectations, have regular staff meetings, on-going performance feedback with staff, and provide support to office staff.
Positive Contribution to the School Environment, provide timely and clear communication; Respond to staff and parent emails within 48 hours; Provide monthly updates to the Human Resources Director; Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Maintain integrity with respect to hierarchy in the organization; Demonstrate professionalism; Demonstrate positive relationships with colleagues
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent
Minimum job-related experience; Experience in an educational environment preferred with managerial skills
Computer skills: word processing/spreadsheets (Google Doc/Sheets), email (Gmail)
