Fleet Service Clerks perform the handling of items on and off aircraft, carts, containers, and trucks; transporting items between terminals and aircraft;
receiving, delivering, weighing and documenting of cargo in a cargo specific facility (warehouse) or a loading dock area.
The terms and conditions of this position are covered by the International Association of Machinists (IAM) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Starting pay is $19.60 per hour.
What you'll do

Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed when operationally necessary, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.
- The Fleet Service Crew Chief will lead and direct the work of Fleet Service employees on his assigned crew.
- Responsibilities include the completion of paperwork and reports in connection with his normally assigned duties.
- Role requires proper work methods, conduct classroom and / or on-the-job training (OJT), conduct meetings or indoctrinate employees in new or revised operational procedures.
- Responsible for the overall performance of his crew, including the timely and satisfactory completion of work assignments.
- Ensure employees assigned to his crew are properly utilized and instructed for the efficient performance of their daily work and that required forms, records, reports, and other paperwork are completed legibly and correctly.
What you'll do (cont.)
In addition to the above, the Crew Chief may, upon request, assist management in areas such as, but not limited to :
- Periodic evaluation of operational requirements and performance.
- Operational planning and scheduling.
- Evaluation of training methods and techniques.
- Evaluation of equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Guide aircraft by standing and holding wands at or above shoulder height.
- Lead and direct team in loading baggage / cargo in the aircraft cargo compartment.
- Drive and operate all ramp equipment.
- Service aircraft at gates with ground power and air conditioning.
- Tow and pushback aircraft from gates.
- Service aircraft lavatories and water ports.
- Clean interior of aircraft when needed.
- Adhere to government regulations (e.g., DOT, FAA, TSA).
- Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies.
- Work outdoors with exposure to extreme weather / elements, engine noise, and noxious fumes
- Report to position on time, as scheduled, and at your assigned station or location, including mandatory overtime requirements, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays

High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Lift, load, unload, and transport bags and cargo to / from aircraft's, bag carts, and conveyor belts
Must have knowledge of and ability to use basic computer skills
People-oriented and highly motivated, with a positive and cooperative attitude
Good communication skills
Applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and / or US Customs security badges, if applicable
Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check and / or fingerprinting to satisfy company and security requirements
Ability to obtain jet bridge certification
Must have the ability to pass the US Postal Service background check
