- Responsible for leading a team of inspectors as a key member of the dynamic and fast-paced American Airlines Maintenance organization.
What you'll do
Maintains Inspection staff compliance with the designated QC and maintenance program [CAMP] and as directed by QC ManagerEnsures Inspection staff is following methods as required to maintain product quality necessary to meet AA standards and FAA government regulationsSupervises and manages union workforce of inspectors in the performance of their day-to-day accomplishment of audits, visual inspection, functional testing measurements, non-destructive testing, borescope and work finding of airframes components / engines repaired, serviced and / or modified by Production employees Creates and nurtures a diverse work environmentRecognizes and encourages successful individual and team performance; establishes individual developmental plansResolves conflict and takes appropriate action to prevent future occurrencesKeeps team and self-aware of personnel, product, safety, regulatory, and technical requirementsSupervises the team that audits completed tasks to ensure physcial work accomplished matches the provided instructionsUtilizes the skills, knowledge, and information available from resources (e.g., employees, customers, manuals, other departments) to make timely, effective, and informed decisionsAccomplishes corporate objectives by facilitating the active participation of all team members and by identifying and removing obstacles to achieve desired resultsMay certify the airworthiness of aircraft released for service and the return of components and federal regulationsEnsures inspectors possess proper qualifications to perform their assigned duties properly and efficientlyRecommends new and revised procedures / programs for upgrading quality systems as needed, includes special assignments as directed by managementSupervises the team to support corporate D0 initiatives and hangar and / or terminal operations as necessaryAll you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalencyExperience equivalent to undergraduate degree or similar technical schoolExperience in managing teams and utilizing continuous improvement processesExperience in monitoring and improving organizational performancePreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience / training5 years' experience in supervising the accomplishment of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs, Aircraft Training, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Embraer Commercial AircraftPrior leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, crew chief, community, organizational)Experience in using Operating Rhythm to monitor and improve organizational performance, with an emphasis on the ability to develop and implement shop level metricsProject Management experienceSkills, Licenses & Certifications
