- 1 years of veterinary experience (preferred)
- Saturday availability
- 8-hour shifts
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- TPR
- Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
- Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Placing IV catheters
- Digital radiology including positioning.
- Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
- Anesthesia (monitoring, aseptic technique)
- Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
- Excellent client communication/education Duties:```
- - Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners experience:
- - Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician preferred
- - Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
- - Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- - Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices
- - Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- - Experience with animal catheterization is a plus
- - Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial
- - Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting is a bonus.
