AAP is currently looking for a highly motivated Director of IT to join our team.
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
Position Summary
The Director of IT is responsible for overseeing the direction, planning, implementation, and day-to-day management of the organization's technology systems and infrastructure to ensure alignment with business goals, operational efficiency, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the IT strategy to align with the organization’s business objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, telecommunications, data, and applications. Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure. Manage the lifecycle of software and hardware, including upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Define team goals, assess performance, and identify opportunities for professional development. Implement practices that focus on service excellence to all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with VP of Operations to develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement continuity protocols to minimize disruptions in emergency situations or data loss. Proactively address cybersecurity risks and lead incident response efforts when needed. Facilitate security audits and investigations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT systems effectively support business processes and develop technology training for staff. Oversee helpdesk operations and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Lead IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of progressively responsible experience in IT leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex IT environments, including infrastructure, applications, telecommunications, and security.
- Experience leading IT strategy development and implementation.
- Proficiency in IT systems, networks, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
- Strong ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and influence organizational change.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, follow-up and decision-making skills.
Location:
- This is hybrid position, which will require “as needed” travel to AAP’s headquarters in Scottsboro, Alabama, with a minimum of quarterly visits.
