Job Title : Director of Member Services and Business Development
Department : Membership Services and Business Development
Reports To : Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Job Summary : The Director of Member Services and Business Development will oversee the development, planning, and management of the organization’s membership initiatives, including the membership applications process, member retention, and recruitment efforts. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead a team to achieve departmental goals. The Director will also develop regular reports on membership metrics and recommend or develop new member programs and services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the review and approval process for new member applications, ensuring timely processing and compliance with Board of Directors’ requirements.
- Lead the annual membership renewal campaign, including strategic planning, invoicing, staff outreach, and engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Membership Committee to evaluate, develop, and implement new member benefits annually.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the membership database through regular maintenance, cleanup, and quality control measures.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for member-related inquiries and issues.
- Recruit, train, and manage Membership department staff, conducting performance evaluations and identifying professional development opportunities.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Membership Committee, Global Committee, and E2M, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate the annual Membership department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify and implement automation solutions and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze membership metrics, generate reports, and recommend new programs and services to drive engagement and growth.
- Lead business development initiatives, identifying opportunities to attract and retain members through partnerships and innovative strategies.
- Develop and execute engagement strategies to enhance member satisfaction, retention, and overall value.
- Partner with internal AANS departments, including Marketing and Communications, to create and review content related to membership benefits, renewal campaigns, member outreach, events, and surveys.
