REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR
SUMMARY:
The Payroll Specialist performs payroll administration for all facilities under the American Auto Auction Group umbrella. The Payroll Administrator exhibits superior customer service at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for:
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
- Poll electronic time clocks and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
- Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
- Timely payroll submission to third party payroll vendor.
- Payroll journal entry preparation and input.
- 401K contribution management.
- Compile internal management reports from payroll system software as necessary
- Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system for payroll
- Responds to regularly recurring requests for payroll and employee information
- Works independently and within a team on all payroll functions
- Assists Human Resources Director as necessary.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Education: High School Diploma minimum, some College preferred
- Experience: Previous payroll processing experience. Previous HR administrative experience preferred

- Strong work ethic and understanding of confidentiality.
- Strong competencies with modern office technologies
- Highly organized, self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Fluent and professional in use of the English language in all forms communication
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with fast-paced, deadline oriented tasks
- Effective in working alone or in a collaborative setting
- Environment: The environment involves working in the office at a desk for extended periods. Those working in this position are subject to repeated hours performing clerical functions while sitting at a desk.
