American Bancshares Mortgage (ABSM) is seeking a highly organized and experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to join our growing team. As the Mortgage Loan Processor, you’ll be responsible for managing a multi-state loan pipeline, reviewing documentation for compliance, and working closely with borrowers, sales teams, and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth and timely loan process. Job Duties:
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) regarding ABSM’s policies, procedures, products, and systems.
- Follow all Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and regulatory timelines throughout the processing lifecycle.
- Retrieve, organize, and review documentation within the Encompass eFolder buckets.
- Maintain effective communication with borrowers, loan officers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Conduct thorough reviews of income, title, payoffs, appraisals, insurance, and other supporting documents prior to submission to underwriting.
- Track and manage key dates including rate lock expirations, document expirations, and contingency milestones.
- Ensure proper documentation and data entry across all platforms, maintaining detailed records of all communication and loan activity.
- Escalate potential fraud concerns to the Risk Management Leadership Team.
- Collaborate with Sales Team members—including Branch Managers and Loan Officers—to communicate status updates and outstanding needs.
- Participate in required company training and continuing education programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Encompass LOS experience is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of recent Retail Lending processing experience and extensive knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Bond loan programs.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience with DU, DO, LP, and GUS systems
- Working knowledge of various fraud tools (DataVerify, LoanSafe Fraud Manager, etc.).
- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all customers, vendors and internal ABSM team members.
- Deep understanding of mortgage processing guidelines and industry best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state mortgage compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple files in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
