Job Summary
The Lead Quality Technician works with and supports the quality organization and technical center departments to continuously improve the performance of the key product and system components in an expanding product portfolio. This role assists the quality engineers Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) and Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), manufacturing, logistics and operations to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assists/guides Quality Technicians in daily activities.
- Manage and coordinate the site measuring and equipment calibration program.
- Support incoming inspection, autopsy activities, and production control operations.
- Inspect, evaluate, and provide disposition of components used in the production of electromechanical products.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Support quality requirements for components to ensure correct parts are received and verified for product quality.
- Obtain detailed print specifications from internal customers.
- Support the development of the inspection methods and ensure compliance with product specifications.
- File and maintain all records associated with the Quality Department.
- Maintain measurement equipment calibration records.
- Review product inspection history to make future inspection decisions.
- Communicate with quality engineers regarding quality requirements.
- Participate in Material Review board (MRB) & Nonconformance Report (NCR) meetings to support a resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Manage and reinforce standard communication and reporting in quality issues.
- Send Quality Alerts to Purchasing and internal customers as required.
- Work with purchasing to replace defective components.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required and a minimum of five (5) years of quality experience.
- Associate’s Degree with a minimum of three (3) years of quality experience preferred.
- Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gages, and a variety of other-dimensional tools is required.
- Working knowledge of quality systems, processes, ISO 9001 and TS16949 documentation.
- Proficient with Excel, agile data analysis tools are required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system software knowledge is preferred.
- The ability to create PowerPoint presentations is preferred.
