JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Prisons based Substance Use Disorder Supervisor
Status: Full Time/ Salary
Position Reports to: Regional Directors
Job Summary:
This position works our of our MCC prison work release program and is responsible for assisting the clinical supervisor in the professional development of clinicians at each SUD treatment facility. This position serves as a liaison between DOC Staff and clinical staff. This includes ensuring that all client needs are met in a timely fashion.
Minimum Qualifications:
An associate degree or Higher, documented supervision experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Must meet the WAC standards to provide Clinical Supervision. Valid Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) credential in Washington. The candidate will be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, including: group counseling skills, one-on-one counseling skills, treatment planning, assessments, and referrals.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, or stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and ability to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
Candidate must be able to handle moderate to loud noise as part of their daily job functions. Potential travel is required between facilities and contractor provider sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures that the SUD Program structure remains intact and responds to any instances that would compromise the program integrity.
2. Must ensure compliance with federal, state, and interagency regulations.
3. Ensure that all clinical activities remain in compliance with all contractual requirements, to include group rosters.
4. Communicates with all on duty staff as necessary to ensure that the program is being followed and that agency and state standards are being adhered to both in spirit and intent.
5. Model and enforce ABHS policies and procedures in a fair manner consistent with the current CBA.
6. Must model the culture of excellent customer service as adapted by ABHS, as well as the Washington State Department of Corrections Mission Statement.
7. Provide leadership and strong dedication to developing and delivering evidence-based services and support for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
8. Provide leadership and oversight on outcome and program performance measures as defined internally and externally.
9. Observe, supervise, and assist clinicians on duty.
10. Assist clinicians with their professional development planning, provide timely and constructive feedback, as well as conduct performance evaluation as scheduled.
11. Meets with clinicians, consistent with the SUDS Supervision Requirements to ensure compliance and adequate training of all clinical staff is occurring consistently and timely.
12. Observe treatment including individual and group to provide constructive feedback to improve the clinical staff’s ability facilitate effective treatment.
13. Write comprehensive reports each month to include file review, face time with each clinician, and the treatment observed. Provide any information deemed noteworthy and training attended by clinicians.
14. Foster effective team work and communication between all members.
15. May perform other duties and special assignment as assigned.
16. May be required to take crisis calls from the facility during the evenings.
17. Ensure that all ABHS clients’ needs are met with dignity and respect in a timely manner.
