Summary
We are seeking resumes for an HR Generalist responsible for overseeing HR services for American Bridge employees, encompassing full-cycle onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and conducting exit interviews. Proficient in leveraging HR systems to process employee requests, manage external verifications, address EEO issues, and generate reports. Collaborates with local management and the HR team to effectively implement programs and policies aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining a high-performing workforce. Acts as a strategic partner to the HR manager and a valuable resource to employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and manages new employee onboarding tasks to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Provides guidance on all performance management processes, including coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations.
- Partners with management to ensure the fair, appropriate, and consistent resolution of employee concerns.
- Processes transactional employee data as needed (e.g., offer letters, promotions, transfers, salary increases, terminations).
- Collaborates with the HR team on the implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Escalates concerns to the HR Manager regarding any matters affecting employees and management related to labor law, ethics, and workplace culture.
- Investigates issues reported through the Southland Holdings Ethics confidential line or raised by employees and managers.
- Updates and maintains the company’s HR database.
- Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from various sources, including payroll/HRIS systems, exit interviews, employment records, and government labor statistics.
- Prepares and submits the EEO-1 report annually.
- Assists the HR Manager in developing and conducting necessary training initiatives.
- Works closely and collaborates with other HR team members as needed.
- Serves as the benefits liaison for the region and processes benefit invoices.
- Assists surrounding departments as needed to support overall company operations and initiatives.
Qualifications
- At least two years of Human Resource experience or equivalent, ideally in the construction industry or related field.
- Recruiting and experience and Cooperative Education/Internships programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills; high attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal requirements and government regulations affecting Human Resources functions.
- Professional demeanor and communications skills, with proven ability to work with employees from all levels of the organization.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a time sensitive, confidential, manner within a fast paced, results-oriented environment with minimal supervision
- Experience with use of any HRIS systems, on base, JD Edwards and Applicant Tracking Systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Awesome, "Can-Do" attitude.
- Experience in processing HR related invoices.
- Bachelor's degree would be a plus but not preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to business acumen, financial concepts, and various HR related calculations. A high math aptitude is necessary for computer automation projects and logic. An understanding of statistics and other higher level math is necessary. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Experience with OnBase and Everify systems would be a bonus and not a necessity.
