Commercial Loans Operations Associate - Quality Control
American Commercial Bank & Trust is currently seeking candidates for a newly added role as a Commercial Loans Operations Associate within our Loans Ops Quality Control team. The incumbent in this role will have responsibility for securing the Bank's position in the collateral held against our commercial loans. Specifically, this will entail filing mortgages, UCCs and vehicle/equipment titles for newly closed C&I and CRE loans, updating UCC continuations, ensuring title policies and title commitments are received, assisting with insurance set-up and tracking, documenting and monitoring the pledging of bank loans to third party correspondents including verifying loan complies with program requirements, and maintaining physical loan and collateral files. We are seeking candidates with 3 years of Banking experience; experience in commercial loan operations and commercial loan documentation not required but highly desirable. Qualified candidates must also have excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, good reasoning and problem-solving ability, good research skills, and must interact professionally with other business units. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Key job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Files mortgages, UCC financing statements and vehicle/equipment titles with appropriate counties and states as required to perfect the Bank's position.
- Ensure that UCC Continuations are filed accurately and within the required timeframe to ensure the Bank's continued position in the pledged collateral.
- Verification of Collateral Perfection.
- Follow up on title policies and title commitments post-closing.
- Upload and track insurance placed on commercial and residential property held as collateral on commercial loans, as well as insurance policies on equipment, inventory, etc. Ensures coverage does not lapse, follows up with insurance carriers and lending staff to collect required policy documentation.
- Processes releases, including removal of PINs from operating system and tax monitoring system at the lenders direction.
- Monitors and documents pledged loans to third party correspondents (i.e. FHLB & FRB), verifies compliance with pledge program requirements, assists with physical file maintenance of commercial and collateral loan files.
- May be required to assist with gathering and assembling files, data, and reports for internal and external audit requests.
- Stays abreast of regulatory updates and changes with regard to commercial loan documentation and collateral.
- Assist in other Quality Control duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required, some college business coursework helpful.
- Seeking 3 years of Bank experience; prior experience in commercial loan operations or commercial loan documentation desirable.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and best practices within banking functions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills, including excellent tracking and follow-up skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite, and of core banking system software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
