Director of Nursing Services- Idaho
American Consultants is looking for a permanent Director of Nursing Services for a facility an hour outside of Spokane, WA.
Position Summary :
The Director of Nursing Services (DNS) is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and supervising the effective and efficient use of health and medical related services. The DNS provides direct supervision to the nursing staff and provides leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and nursing practice standards. Assures compliance with all regulatory agencies, EMTALA and Compliance related issues. As well as other duties as assigned.
Manages and supervises employees in Care Management, Chemotherapy, Emergency Department, Med / Surg, Respiratory and the Surgery department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws and accrediting body. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing program, BSN preferred.
- Certificates required : BLS, ACLS, Certificates recommended : TNCC, PALS, NALS, NPR.
- To preform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the EHR system software; payroll system software; Excel and Access spreadsheet software; and MS Word Processing software.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with customers and the ability to resolve conflicts / problems in a professional and courteous manner.
- Well organized, thorough, and conscientious approach to performing duties.
