Travel / Perm Social Worker (MSW) Oncology / Dialysis Unit - North Dakota
American Consultants is looking for a Social Worker to work at a facility close to Williston, ND. Oncology / Dialysis experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
Patient and Family Support :
Provide emotional counseling to patients and their families to help them cope with the stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Facilitate family discussions about the treatment plan, prognosis, and end-of-life issues, as necessary.
- Offer crisis intervention for patients and families who are struggling with emotional or psychological distress.
Resource Coordination :
Help patients and families access community resources, financial assistance, support groups, and cancer-related services.
Care Planning and Advocacy :
Collaborate with oncology teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans, especially for patients with complex psychosocial needs.
Patient Education :
Educate patients and their families on coping mechanisms, the cancer treatment process, and available support services.
