What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at American Contract Group, Inc?
Logistics Specialist - planned for 90 to 180 days. Contract to hire is a possibility but not necessarily part of the plan. Transportation does require an onsite presence, planned for 5 days per week onsite
Required:
- Experience with Microsoft tools like Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Transportation experience dispatching, tendering, shipment tracing, 3rd party brokerage, or some other closely related transportation role
- Can communicate effectively both inside Steelcase organization and outside with various carriers using email and phone
Helpful:
- SAP knowledge
- Experience using a Transportation Management system
- GPS carrier tracking (MacroPoint or similar tool)
- Smartsheet
- Tableau or similar data visibility tool
This role will require someone able to work in a dynamic environment on site during normal business hours. Position will be asked to track and trace full-truckload, less than truckload, parcel, and expedited shipments within Client logistics to ensure flawless execution of on-time delivery. Communication with dedicated fleet carriers, contracted carriers, and brokers will happen daily in the form of emails and phone calls. The person in this position could also be asked to review claims, complete reports, and complete additional tasks supporting day to day transportation logistics. This position will play a key role in ensuring Client dealers and customers receive world-class delivery performance on every shipment.
