DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greeting passengers, answering inquiries, scanning electronic boarding passes, pre-board screening of guest using hand wand and X-Ray machine, securing doors and gates, assisting in truck, bus and vehicle traffic control in a fast-paced environment.
- You are essential in providing a memorable experience while giving an exceptional level of service an maintaining a safe and secure cruise environment.
- Promptly and effectively communicate all safety and security concerns seen in and around the cruise facility using two-way radio.
- Responds and assists during security and emergency situations.
- Work successfully with both a diverse team and guests & be a team player.
- Must be self-motivated and requires minimal supervision.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Performs other security duties as assigned.
- Follows internal/external policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work occasional extended hours, evening hours, and holidays.
- At the direction of management, may be assigned to perform duties of varying capacities to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and operate at a high level of efficiency & accuracy.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid WA State Security Guard License.
- Must be able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) Employer will provide assistance if needed.
- Must obtain union membership within 10 days following the thirtieth (30th) day of employment. Subject to union fees.
Competency, Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Effective verbal communication skills; clear, respectful, and appropriate communication to all guests. Must be able to work fluently in English; bi-lingual skills are a plus.
- Must be dependable and reliable to report to work on-time when scheduled.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor work environment, subject to fluctuation in temperatures, exposure to the sun and elements.
- Must be able to work Friday, Saturday, Sundays and one other day of the week.
- Must be able to stand in place or have limited movement on concrete for duration of work shift.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, push and/or pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to use communication tools such as two-way radios.
- Must be able to read documents, see signage and provide verbal and physical directional support.
- Must be able to use electronic scanning devices such as magnetometers, handheld metal detection wands, tablets, and handheld identification scanners.
- Expected hours: 24-40 per week
- Work schedule may include: Day shifts, morning shifts, 8 hour shifts, 10 hours shifts, Every weekend, Weekday shifts, etc.
