Position Overview:
American Dawn, Inc., one of the leading importers and distributors of textile products for the food, health care, hospitality, and other markets for nearly a century, is looking for an HR Administrator to assist the HR Director in day-to-day HR functions. In this support role, you will coordinate routine HR and payroll inquiries, ensuring smooth operations by providing timely and accurate responses. You will assist with payroll administration, support recruiting and benefits administration, and provide essential administrative help to the HR Director. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration and Support:
- Assist the HR Director with reviewing and verifying payroll data, ensuring accuracy by checking timesheets and employee records and identifying discrepancies promptly.
- Provide support by generating and maintaining payroll reports as requested by the HR Director.
Employee Inquiries and HR Support:
- Assist the HR Director by serving as a point of contact for employees, addressing routine inquiries regarding policies, benefits, time off, and general HR-related services.
- Ensure that employee concerns are escalated to the HR Director when needed, maintaining high confidentiality.
Recruiting and Onboarding Support:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Director during recruitment by coordinating interviews, managing pre-employment paperwork, conducting reference checks, and preparing onboarding materials.
Benefits Administration:
- Assist employees with basic benefits-related questions while supporting the HR Director with more complex benefits administration.
- Help coordinate open enrollment periods, ensuring all employees know their benefits options.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Director by maintaining accurate employee files and ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
- Assist the HR Director with scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and handling general HR administrative tasks.
- Help track HR-related data and assist in preparing basic HR reports.
- As needed, cover the front desk and receptionist duties, including answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing them to the appropriate department or individual.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience providing administrative support in an HR role or related field.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling payroll and sensitive employee data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll software (experience with ADP is a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Occasional overtime may be required to assist the HR department during peak periods or special HR projects.
