POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of strategies to drive a compelling for the brand. This individual will play a critical role on a small, high-performing team to drive business results and category growth. This position makes key business decisions with a high-level of autonomy and directly contributes to the overall success and health of the Todd Snyder business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Establish, drive and execute a strategic product vision and business plan through effective communication and coordination with cross-functional business partners inclusive of design, international merchandising, planning, etc.
- Understand (at all times) competition and marketplace inclusive of Brick and Mortar AND Digital competition. Make brand right and informed decisions for assigned departments/categories based upon the competitive landscape/marketplace and the needs of the Todd Snyder customer
- In partnership with the planning team, establish seasonal strategic plans for sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity. Effectively manage in-season business to maximize topline sales and minimize markdowns. Work in conjunction with planning to manage the Open-to-Buy as far as receipts, sales, margin, markdowns, and Weeks of Supply
- Present and own topline and go-forward strategy and drive department objectives in Planning meetings
- Review Buy tool while providing guidance to Assistant and Associate merchants ensuring completion
- Analyze performance and plans including LYTY to look for sales and margin opportunities to exceed plan; quickly adapt and respond to changes/trends occurring in the business and in the marketplace
- Maintain knowledge by Channel of performers , prepare and communicate weekly highlights and opportunities
- Complete analysis of business drivers and trends and report to appropriate parties
- Prepare and present to company leadership including C-Level) Assortment and Merchandise strategy and topline business information with accuracy and ease
- Review assortment sheet and replenishment requests ensuring accuracy and performing ongoing edits as needed.
- Ensure IMU% is protected by partnering with cross functional teams and understanding costing challenges and design changes.
- Present promotional opportunities to manager
- Communicate incorrect product information or images to site merchant, participate in testing and previews
- Ensure cross functional partners are aware of product delays
- Support accurate inventory management
- Operate with a high level of discretion and autonomy and minimal supervisor support and input
- Own seasonal Open to Buy process for assigned categories
- Effectively and efficiently run business meetings to ensure objectives and deadlines are met
- Perform other duties and reporting as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Retail, Finance, or Business focus preferred
- Prior relevant Merchant experience ideally from a specialty store; Menswear experience preferred
- Passion for Todd Snyder brand and ability to be a Brand Ambassador
- The ability to operate in both a strategic and hands-on capacity is required
- Passionate with a keen sense of the latest fashion trends while being able to interpret them for the aerie customer
- Strong organization, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to sell and influence
- Strong analytical skills; ability to utilize MS Office Suite
- Ability to perform in a high-ambiguity “start-up” like environment
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; flexibility and team orientation
- Ability to act as liaison between cross functional teams
- Ability to travel
