POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Associate, Investment Support, supports the investment team, ensuring the accuracy of investment account holdings and alignment with the organization’s Investment Policy Statement (IPS). Key duties include periodic data clean-ups, investment paperwork review, and gathering data for the external audit. The role provides support for the investment team and account processes through managing inquiries, documenting investment strategies, conducting annual due diligence, and participating in projects to enhance departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs periodic data integrity clean-up of investment account holdings information.
- Prepares and reviews investment paperwork to ensure accuracy and alignment with AEF’s IPS.
- Provides support to the organization signers in researching and presenting information.
- Assists with call volumes and email inquiries by responding appropriately in a timely manner or escalating to signers.
- Reviews investment objectives, strategies, and benchmarks provided by advisors and document according to AEF processes.
- Conducts due diligence reviews on an annual basis and follow up with documentation according to AEF processes.
- Participates in projects and initiatives to meet the objectives of the investment department, such as automating reports, and updating policies and processes.
- Participates in the support of external audits performed by notified bodies, regulatory agencies, customers, and business partners.
- Performs administrative functions such as scanning and uploading paperwork, updating and preparing documents and following up on confirmations.
- Keeps current on industry recommended best practices for alternative asset management.
- Recommends process and documentation improvements.
- Collaborates with internal teams to collect documentation needed such as memos, statements, and account information from FA or donors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Investments.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 3 or more years of experience in investment industry or related field
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with multiple teams and individuals at various levels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage competing prioritizes
- Strong problem-solving skills to work with different types of investments
- Working knowledge of current federal IRS rules and regulations governing donor-advised funds
