The Data Analyst supports Operations data analytics and reporting activities, including responsibility for defining data needs, gathering requirements, and building streamlined data visualization solutions following best practices and standards. As a key member of our Operations Analytics team, the role influences data-driven decisions across the organization, performs data manipulation and dataset preparation for analysis and summarizes information in a logical and understandable format. Communication and collaboration are critical as the role partners with cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges, analyze data to uncover insights, and develop actionable recommendations to improve performance.

General Purpose Of The Job

- Position sits in West Des Moines and will work an onsite hybrid schedule**
- Data Analysis & Insights:
- Conducts in-depth analysis of operational data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Develops and maintains data models and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Prepares data reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor operational performance.
- Problem Solving & Solutions:
- Collaborates with stakeholders to define and prioritize business problems.
- Develops and recommends data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
- Proactively identifies areas for improvement and proposes innovative solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Effectively communicates complex data analysis findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with business stakeholders across different departments.
- Presents data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership

Education And/Or Experience
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, finance, computer science or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a data analysis or business analyst role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Preferred:
- Demonstrated understanding of technical annuity product system design
- Expertise in communicating within stakeholder working sessions ranging from front line team members to department leadership.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Naturally curious with the ability to drive business decisions and solutions
- Proactive self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage priorities through effective time management skills
- Strong execution background with the ability to prioritize solutions for business needs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to draft and deliver executive summaries and respond to questions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions demonstrating both strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Take conceptual or broad guidance and develop into concrete goals or multiple scenarios for further refinement and testing of alternate approaches before finalization of eventual default path for execution.
