This Director will be part of the Global Servicing Group & Corporate Technology (GSG&CT) Product Delivery & Integration team and will be responsible for leading end-to-end delivery for large and critical initiatives, in partnership with Engineering, Product, and Business Leaders.
Immediate priorities of this role will include delivery of Enterprise Complex Multi-Year Initiatives across Global Financial Crimes Technology within Global Risk and Compliance Technology (GRCT) portfolio.
Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) defines the enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Anti-Corruption compliance programs for American Express in a holistic manner. Global Financial Crimes Technology (within GRCT) implements the technology solutions in support of the GFCC program mission.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Partner and collaborate with Product Management, Technology Leaders, and teams to understand the intended outcome of the program, manage delivery, and communicate progress delivery.
- Translate key business goals and enables coordination of Product Management and technology leaders and teams to drive alignment of activities to achieve desired outcomes.
- Coordinate and review portfolio’s end to end delivery plans.
- Support and guide the development process, collaborating effectively across multiple cross-functional teams to skillfully execute on deliverables in a timely manner.
- Dedicatedly anticipate any risks and issues during the delivery of the portfolio plan and ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are undertaken.
- Facilitate the engagement of end-to-end delivery and/or support teams, negotiating where necessary to resolve any resourcing conflicts that may arise due to availability or skill.
- Promote continuous improvement in Technology end to end delivery processes to drive overall improvements.
- Actively engage in resourcing processes to ensure organization agility.
- Ensure adherence of portfolio (or Platform) supported relevant compliance requirements.
- Overarching understanding the technical platforms and architectural integrations.
- Champion of Lean-Agile practices and mindsets by encouraging and supporting enterprise Agile maturity progression.
- Builds and develops high performing teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior relevant professional work experience including large scale product and technology software development and project management experience
- Proven track record of successfully leading delivery of large portfolios/programs/projects end to end across the Enterprise
- Experience in people leadership including coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated experience with system architecture, design & integration as well as business knowledge in multiple disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in leading large scale delivery initiatives within American Express.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; advanced degree preferred
- Additional Agile certifications a plus
- Deep expertise across a broad range of technology and hands-on engineering/coding experience a plus.

Salary : $145,000 - $230,000
