American Express is looking for a Senior Manager-Digital Prod Analytics to contribute to the company's focus on cash-flow and digital financial products for small businesses, including American Express Business Blueprint. 

The products, originally designed by the FinTech startup Kabbage, are offered to millions of small business owners to streamline actions that could help them grow their businesses, such as managing cash flow, receiving payments from customers, and acquiring business funding. 

Kabbage was acquired by American Express in 2020.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Work closely with business teams to capture, analyze and understand business requirements and translate activities and business objectives into analytical tools for application in a production scale environment
  • Facilitate and ensure adherence to Analytics team processes and procedures
  • Architect, document, develop, code, and test analytics models to create scalable advanced analytics solutions
  • Partner collaboratively with other functional teams to access data elements, understand the data being analyzed and identify improvement opportunities for the analytics environment
  • Using Tableau, develop well-organized and insightful reports, dashboards and other forms of data visualizations to support business awareness and decision-making
  • Oversee deployment of Tableau dashboards and reports, facilitate user acceptance testing and user training, and provide ongoing support to key stakeholders
  • Manage projects with multiple stakeholders by prioritizing and delegating projects/tasks
  • Guide strategy, roadmap, and execution with regards to development and optimization of our Business Intelligence ecosystem; Ensure that Business Intelligence suite enhances business decision-making capabilities and addresses the needs of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Set guidelines for report approval, quality control, and data set usage
  • Document all available reports to ensure stakeholder access to available reporting; Define and implement reporting distribution strategy to direct users to most relevant reporting for specific use case and keep users informed of new releases as well as updates/changes to existing reports
  • Ensure that reporting suite and user permissions remain in compliance within the evolving security & privacy landscape
  • Advance the broader Analytics team's continued education in advancements in visualization techniques and best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Tableau
  • Expertise in SQL query development including performance tuning, stored procedure development and complex query development 
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining Tableau reports including Tableau server administration 
  • 5-10 years experience in an analytical role, performing deep-dive analyses and defining key business metrics that drive strategy; Financial services experiences is a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, engineering, math, science, economics, etc).  Advanced degrees preferred. 
  • Experience in developing data models
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and with partners across all levels of an organization 
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience and succinctly summarizing complex concepts
  • Familiarity with statistical methods and concepts 
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (Python or R) for data analysis is a plus 

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
