Production Floor Manager job description: American Fabricated Products
Perform tasks involving production management related activities. Responsible for creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures and documents used to assemble, process, test, and or manufacture the company’s product.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Manage shop floor employees daily to ensure timely schedule adherence
- Communicate with customers to ensure on-time delivery
- Assist Management, Engineering, and Quality in creating appropriate documentation to
support manufacturing activities
- Use a variety of computing equipment and quality tools, as needed
- Complete documentation of all work performed
- Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings,
specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to
accurately create components and products
- Operate calipers, tape measures, and other various methods of measuring parts
- Perform shop router work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are
identified
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete company provided training to effectively perform required job responsibilities
Qualification requirements
- Four-year college degree in Engineering Technology or similar
- Equivalent work experience will be considered (3-5 years preferred)
- Knowledge of MicroSoft Office suite preferred
- Technical reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification optional
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
Physical demands and abilities
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly walk to and from manufacturing departments
- Operate a computer and other engineering equipment
