JOB SUMMARY
The AP/AR Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including processing payments via check, ACH, or credit card. This role collaborates with various departments to ensure bills and invoices are processed accurately and on time.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of AP experience.
• Experience in mortgage lending or related industries (a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with BytePro Enterprise and Loan Vision mortgage accounting software (a plus).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Respond to borrower inquiries and requests (added to phone tree, not primary contact).
• Take payments over the phone and send first payment letters to borrowers.
• Process marketing invoices and coordinate approvals with the marketing department.
• Handle high-volume appraisal invoices twice a month.
• Process AFC bills and invoices, AHA agent commission payments, and AHA bills.
• Follow up with appraisers, vendors, and AHA agents to resolve issues.
• Manage daily positive pay and process payroll payment requests.
• Process borrower payments and disburse funds as needed.
• Manage and resolve JIRA accounting tickets.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments.
• Assist with year-end 1098/1099 preparation.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards with the Accounting Manager at month-end.
• Process monthly/quarterly tax payments.
• Support ad hoc projects as requested.
• Address first payment collection matters.
