JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to become the newest member of our growing IT team at American Financing. The position is primarily a Microsoft SQL Server DBA role largely responsible for application architecture, SQL development and system maintenance. This role requires a service oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with the status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems, and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
At minimum of 5 years' experience managing and / or maintaining an enterprise-class SQL Server environment, managing a wide range of SQL Server versions from 2000 to 2019College Degree or MCSA : SQL Server certifiedStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills requiredAbility to work both independently and with a teamAbility to take ownership of an issue and take it to completionGeneral understanding of installation processesUnderstanding of TSQL optimizationsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of backup and recovery processes and maintenance to ensure recovery timelines are met and assist development in lower environmental restoresDevelop stored procedures for reporting purposesNotification / Alerts management and resolution (i.e. SQL Agent Job Failures, Capacity Shortages, System Outages, etc.)Fluent understanding of basic database instance maintenance tasks (i.e. DB Integrity Checks, Index Maintenance, etc.) and how to resolveAbility to configure security within established guidelines and perform related task / auditsInstall security patches / cumulative updates on a regular basisWork with business stakeholders on any internal / third party auditsGood working knowledge of TSQL and best code standards for ad-hoc script review and deployment practicesDeployment of database change scripts provided by customers and 3rd partiesAbility to follow processes and escalate as requiredTake ownership of incident and service requests and follow through to completionMonitor and troubleshoot issues with all database related productsHelp in administering and reporting on SQL / NoSQL dataAdvise developers on the most efficient database design (tables, datatypes, stored procedures, etc.)Using profiler trace and other tools to find most frequently ran queries and help resolve issues with those queriesInstall and configure new SQL Servers / SSRS / SSIS / SSAS application to specified guidelines or 3rd party application requirementsInstall, configure and manage several MongoDB instances.Build and maintain documentation related to the company's database environmentWork with other teams on server level issues to prevent / resolve issues as neededWork with other teams on change requests to analyze effect to SQL MachinesWork with the team to determine the correct technology to meet application requirements which could include clustering, log shipping, mirroring, AlwaysOn, or other technologiesBuild automated processes in a repeatable manner with no human interactionExperience with JIRA and agile methodologies a plusCompensation : $95k-$120k
