Summary :
The Director of Data Management will establish and lead the company’s data management and analytics function. This role is crucial for setting the foundation of our data strategy, building out our data infrastructure, ensuring data quality and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture and BI tools to support data democratization.
- Oversee the ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval of large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Implement best practices for data management, including data partitioning, indexing, and optimization.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, privacy, and security.
- Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.
- Create and maintain a data catalog and metadata management system.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, CUBI).
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
- Define the data strategy in alignment with business objectives and priorities.
- Identify and prioritize data initiatives that drive business value and support strategic goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to promote data-driven decision-making data literacy and awareness across the organization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including company leadership, IT, and business units, to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Communicate complex data concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate tools and technologies for data retrieval, data storage and data governance.
- Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in data management and analytics.
- Ensure responsible and efficient use of AI to further data strategy.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of data infrastructure and solutions.
