Store Greeter

Job Summary

The role of the Greeter is to provide excellent customer service to customers of the store. The Greeter will open doors, greet customers, give customers AFW flyers, assist customers with any questions they may have, and exceed expectations. The Greeter will also verify merchandise to match customer receipts and report any customer issues or suspicious activity to the AFW management team.

Starting Pay: $17/HR, Weekly Pay/ Part Time

Job Requirements

• The customer takes merchandise, The Greeter is to verify against the receipt and then put a large “S” in bold black or red marker so the customer can’t come back to get a 2nd helping. Guard against customer and employee theft.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Greet customers coming into the store with a smile and friendly welcome to AFW.
• Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
• Part time

Job Expectations:

• Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
• Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency, and exceed customer service expectations.
• Hand out Delivery and Over The Road (OTR) brochures to customers as they leave the store.
• Remove the price tags from sold merchandise. These tags belong to AFW and have proprietary information that shall not get out of the store.
• Smile and thank the customer for shopping at AFW.
• Have a cashier, salesperson, or manager do your job when you are on break or lunch.
• Ensures customer care and selling are #1 priority.
• Assists in resolving basic customer issues.
• Knowledgeable of store, services, and locations of merchandise.
• Assists all customers with/or without special needs with shopping carts and promotional flyers.
• Observes customer traffic and calls for additional service as needed to provide efficient customer service.
• Practices operation invitation and positive customer interactions.
• Maintains shopping cart area with an adequate supply of carts that are free of papers and trash.
• Ensures the front entrance is clean and safe for all shoppers.
• Cross-train for the cashier position.
• Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
• All training is provided by AFW.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas
• Requires the ability to lift, lower, push and pull merchandise up to 20 lbs.
• Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 a day.
• Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
