Job Summary:

This position is responsible for Warehouse operations in Ohio, encompassing a wide range of duties to ensure operational excellence. The Warehouse Manager performs a variety of warehouse duties including inventory management, shipping, and receiving materials in an orderly and efficient manner, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrating sustainable practices. They oversee and control all warehouse activities related to shipping, ensuring the use of advanced warehouse management systems to streamline operations and data analytics to inform decision-making.


The role includes direct oversight of Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Leads, and all Warehouse Associates, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. In addition, they oversee all operations associated with the shipping of finished goods and other materials, ensuring these processes are carried out in an efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible manner.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, monitoring, and driving processes to improve KPIs related to all aspects of shipping and receiving, using advanced analytics to inform and guide decision-making.
  • Set and achieve housekeeping standards (5S), driving process changes in order to improve cleanliness and implement sustainable practices to meet standards and procedures for maintenance-related functions.
  • Model and drive best safety practices in the industry to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This includes training and OSHA compliance as well as safety team participation and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Establish, implement, and follow-up on procedures to obtain a consistent process and work standards in the warehouse. This will include participation in any IATF audit activity as needed, and ensuring processes align with sustainable operational goals.
  • Oversee and drive management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conducting staff meetings; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conduct regular meetings and process analysis to identify problem resolutions, encouraging team collaboration and leveraging cross-functional insights to improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular reports as directed, enhancing transparency and accountability through data-driven insights.
  • Oversee regular inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and process efficiencies, integrating eco-friendly inventory management practices where possible.
  • Process and file all product and related documentation for incoming material accurately.
  • Ensures quality of the product by ensuring all cartons are correct and not damaged.
  • Verify that all barcode labels, ISR, IPP, New Model Launch Documents, and other special labels and/or documents are attached to the correct shipment.
  • Creates and maintains documents for ISO certification and compliance.
  • Oversees equipment maintenance and repair, prioritizing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly options.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, inviting feedback and ideas from all levels of the warehouse team to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes employee development, empowerment, and engagement.
  • Ensures availability of necessary shipping supplies by proactively managing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) purchases and receiving in accordance with AFI procedures.
  • Will support analysis of shipping or safety failures resulting in effective countermeasure proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • At least three years of experience in distribution or logistics management, demonstrating a capacity for leadership and operational efficiency.
  • Maintained a good understanding of relevant accounting, international trade, and commercial issues, with an ability to apply this knowledge in a warehouse management context.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and data analytics tools is highly desirable.
  • Coursework or experience in sustainability practices in logistics and supply chain management is a plus, reflecting our commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives is preferred, showcasing a capability to enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement.
  • Understanding of Japanese business culture or language is preferred (however not required), along with general cultural competency or experience working in a multicultural environment to support our diverse workforce and global operations.
