Seasonal Merchandising & Forecasting Intern (Hybrid) - Summer 2025

Job Description

American Greetings is seeking an intern to join its Seasonal Merchandising and Forecasting team. The intern will work closely with the Occasion and Forecasting & Demand Planning teams, contributing to the merchandising of various seasons across multiple product categories to optimize retail sales performance.

Role

This role offers exposure to a variety of business processes within a CPG company, including merchandising, forecasting, sales, business analytics, and creative. The ideal candidate could be expected to assist with the following types of activities:

• Assist their manager in all aspects of the seasonal occasion planning process and execution to help achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze POS sales to determine optimal assortment and merchandising for each occasion and provide recommendations to support the development of the business.
• Assess product and retail insights, including competitive assessments through retail visits to identify performance drivers and guide future business plans.
• Learn and understand current processes, as well as innovating and recommending improvements.
• Assist with research, development, and execution of merchandising and simplification concepts.
• Physical experimentation, setup, and review of merchandising techniques. Position will require hands-on product and fixture setup.
• Assist with the execution of retailer specific tasks.
  
  

Internship Program Summary

• Dates of Internship: This is a 10-week, paid internship (Monday, June 2, 2025 – Friday, August 8, 2025)
• Location: Westlake, Ohio
• Work Environment: You will be working in a hybrid environment that requires working on-site, 2 days each week.
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Our Internship Program is designed to provide students with real and meaningful work experiences in their field of interest while providing valuable insight into other key areas of the business.

Requirements

Experience Required:

• Must have plans to reside in Northeast Ohio for the Summer of 2025
• There is no housing stipend associated with this internship
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, pursuing an undergraduate degree and entering your Junior or Senior year
• Must be able to work full time hours for the duration of the internship

• High ability to collaborate and work in a team environment and independently produce results for both long-term projects and short-term requests.
• Detail oriented and highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and commitment.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative decision-making skills with tolerance for change.
• Ability to demonstrate proficient communication and interpersonal skills while interacting with peers and management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment coordinating multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Strong PC skills, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel (including knowledge of VLOOKUP and other program formulas/functions).
  
  

Education Required

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program
• Preferred Fields of Study: Marketing, Business, Merchandising, Economics, Statistics, Entrepreneurship, Operations/Management, Supply Chain, Marketing Logistics, or related fields of study
